Duty, Honor and Commitment

The son of a United States Army Pilot, Walter was born in Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D.C. on New Year’s Day, 1960.

After Walter’s dad returned from two tours of duty in Vietnam, the family settled in Broward County. Except for a four-year stay in Gainesville, Florida, to graduate from the University of Florida with a degree in Business Administration. Walter has been a Broward County resident since 1966.

A local boy, Walter attended Stirling Elementary, Attucks Junior High and graduated from Hollywood Hills High School where he starred in football and baseball and was voted Most Popular by his senior class. He grew up playing little league and Optimist Football at Rotary Park in Hollywood. He also represented American Legion Post 92 by playing American Legion baseball.

After completing his studies in Real Estate and Urban Analysis at the University of Florida, Walter returned to Broward County to work in the family business for a few years. In 1985, Walter began his career in commercial real estate appraisal. Since that time, he has distinguished himself as a leader in that profession, having served as president of the South Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute (MAI), and currently serving as president of Clobus, McLemore & Duke, Inc. one of Florida's largest and most prestigious commercial real estate appraisal firms which has been located in Dania Beach for over 15 years.
